Fused Silica Lenses
Oct. 20, 2021
Fused silica has extremely high transmittance in the entire spectral band. It has outstanding spectral performance. In addition, fused silica has high resistance of thermal shock and low thermal conductivity. Moreover, its price is relatively cheap. Fused silica lenses are used in various optical systems, such as spectrum testing systems, camera lenses and astronomical telescopes. Fused silica lenses are also used in laser medical treatment, industrial laser processing, laser ranging and so on.
Commonly used fused silica lenses are fused silica plano-convex lenses, fused silica plano-concave lenses and fused silica biconvex lenses. Fused silica plano-convex lenses focuses parallel incident light to a spot and form a real image. Fused silica plano-concave lenses diverges parallel incident light and have a negative focal length. The output light does not form a true focus. Fused silica biconvex lenses have a positive focal length and produce a real image that is different from the object.
CLZ Precision Optics Co., Ltd. specializes in producing samples or batch products of fused silica lenses, according to customer’s parameters and design drawings. The parameters of fused silica lenses include diameter of lenses, focal length, center thickness, edge thickness and coating requirements.
